The 18-R model is a spaciously designed river boat for extreme river conditions and maximum fishing comfort designed and tested by Northwest guides. This boat comfortably accomodates five people and all the gear necessary for those long trips, yet handles easily in tight places. The 18-foot river boat is a remarkably easy rowing boat for it's size and when loaded to it's rated capacity (1500#), it will out-row every comparable loaded boat on the river. The rough water design of this hull has been proven on the Colorado and the Snake River.

The optional motor well in the 18-R drift boat converts this boat nicely into a Puget Sound dory in minutes, simply by removing the three screws holding the motor well plug in place. The recommended outboard for this dory is 10 h.p. The crusing speed of this hull is between six and eight knots and can be achieved easily with 10 h.p. even when fully loaded.
