After many prototype models and eight years of testing in wild white water, the newest addition to our river boat line, the White Water Touring Dory, has finally been perfected.

If you have ever had the unfortunate experience of being caught up into more water than your boat or perhaps your skill can handle, you will marvel at what this boat can do.

To begin with, a white water craft must be kept light to be maneuverable (this boat weighs less than 400 lbs. with options). The crowned deck cover will shed most all large waves and the self-bailing cockpit can drain the remaining water in less than two minutes.

The four main hatches are held down with two snap-over center hasps. These provide quick access to the three large compartments inside. The two hasps will decrease the chance of accidental opening in case of a boat roll-over.

If big water is "your bag" be prepared for the worst, a boat roll-over. With the water ballast tank filled (250 lbs. of water for additional bottom weight to lower your center of gravity), roll-over line (hog-line) installed, and a couple of hand rails to board your boat, the worst will be conquerable. After you are back in the boat, gaining quick control is very important; have your spare oar(s) strapped on the stern deck (our heavy-duty break-down oars are ideal for this).

The deluxe foot brace with special toe hold will also help to prevent the coxswain from getting washed out in a big wave.

The insulated icebox is great for extended trips in hot weather. The box is held in place with three wing nuts and can be removed in seconds. With the removable seat back this icebox makes a great seat for your camp site.

The 16-WTD can accomodate four people, one oarsman and three passengers.
