About Lavro Boats

Based in Monroe, Washington, Lavro, Inc. is located near the Skykomish River which makes for a great backyard test facility. All of our boats are hand built to craftsman at work

exacting specifications by talented craftsmen who are not only experts in the field of fiberglass manufacturing, but are also avid fishermen. These craftsmen know what makes for an effective and efficient driftboat that is comfortable to ride in and designed to catch fish.

Starting with the desire to fish more of the river, the founders of Lavro developed the Lavro driftboat in action Northwest style of Drift Boat in the early 1970's. These highly maneuverable and durable boats were designed with the rocky rivers of the Northwest in mind but perform well in almost any kind of water. They are ruggedly designed to handle demanding rivers, yet light enough to maneuver in low ("skinny") water conditions.

During the late 70's and early 80"s Lavro came out with Fly Fishing models. Designed with

the Rocky Mountain Rivers in mind, these are perfect for flyfishing in any state. Continuing this development process, our next step was the Whitewater line, which is used on some of the roughest rivers in the world. Lavro always listens to the customers and uses that information to introduce new ideas and features in our boats.

Through years of testing and re-testing, we have come up with a high quality, durable performance boat which meets the test of professional users before they are placed on the market. Good boat designs can be copied but the quality must be built into the product. At Lavro we hand lay 24-oz fiberglass, roving layer by layer to produce a tough, durable one-piece hull. Chopper strand or mat layups with balsa wood or foam cores just don't have the tensile or flexual strength of woven fiberglass lamination. We are so confident in the quality and durability of our boats the we offer a lifetime warranty against bottom punctures, leaks or wearing out.
